Miraa driver, 2 cops clobbered and injured by mob in Kirinyaga

Two police officers are nursing injuries in Kirinyaga after they were attacked by an angry mob on Monday.

Drama began after a speeding Miraa vehicle- a Toyota Probox- hit a pedestrian killing him on the spot.

The decedent, a 35-year-old Samuel Kathigo was on his way to Ngurubani to buy meat when the car struck him.

Angry residents then descended on the driver of the Miraa vehicle saying Miraa drivers are known for their recklessness.

The mob also descended on two police officers who attempted to protect the driver from the menacing mob.

The driver of the Miraa vehicle was admitted to the Kimbimbi sub- county Hospital after the incident.

The body of the late has been taken to the Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus, awaiting a post-mortem.
