Miguna Miguna blasts DCI for allegedly seizing his vehicle ahead of Jan. 7 arrival

Embattled Kenyan-Canadian lawyer Miguna Miguna now claims detectives from the Special Service Unit of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) illegally seized his vehicle ahead of his arrival in the country next week.

Taking to Twitter, Miguna said the vehicle was seized from one Ferdinand Ogumah at around 12:30pm on Saturday on Zanzibar Road, South B, Nairobi County.

According to the outspoken self-declared National Resistance Movement Kenya (NRM-K) General, the detectives – led by a certain Khadija Sudi – were heavily armed and were neither dressed in police uniform nor using a police vehicle.

Miguna further alleged that the vehicle, model Mercedes Benz, is most likely being detained to install surveillance devices in order to monitor his movement and activities in the country.

He has now urged DCI boss George Kinoti to ensure the release of the vehicle.

The lawyer was in 2018 deported from Kenya on two separate instances over his role in the mock swearing in of opposition leader Raila Odinga as the people’s president on January 30, 2018, at Uhuru Park.

He recently announced that he would be arriving back into the country on January 7, 2020 circa 9:25pm aboard Lufthansa Flight LH 590.

He has since – through an application filed at the Milimani High Court by lawyer John Khaminwa – urged the State to comply with orders previously issued by Justice Chacha Mwita allowing him re-entry into the country.
