Man charged with murder of ex-lovers 12-year-old son in Nyeri

A 45-year-old man was on Monday charged with the murder of a 12-year-old boy in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County.

Appearing before Judge Abigail Mshilla, the accused; Charles Muriuki, was charged that September 26, 2019, he killed the Class 6 pupil and dumped his body at Ragati forest.

He denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh.500,000 with a surety of similar amount.

The accused was released on condition that he should not interfere with witnesses, and that he should not be involved in misconduct.

The court was told that the deceased was the son of the suspect’s former lover.

Muriuki is accused of killing the boy at Ragati Forest where he led detectives and the body was retrieved after a week long search for the Class 6 pupil.

The case will be mentioned on November 21 while the hearing is scheduled to begin on December 21.
