Man arrested with crude weapons after voting closed at a Homa Bay polling station
One person has been arrested with a panga and
knife at Shauri Yako Primary School polling station in Homa Bay Town
constituency moments after the voting exercise was officially closed.
The man was arrested by officers from the
General Service Unit (GSU) who went to clear the polling station after the exercise
was ended.
The suspect was also found in possession of a
rungu during the search.
One of the GSU officers became suspicious
with the suspect after he saw an object hidden in his waist.
The officers handcuffed the suspect and
ordered him to lie down, upon which they found him in possession of the said
crude weapons.
He was handed over to officers attached to the
Homa Bay Police Station where he's being detained for further questioning.
