Major Gen. Philip Kameru Nominated As NIS Boss

Kameru was nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a communication delivered by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi

Kameru is now tipped to take over from Michael Gichangi who resigned early in the week if MPs approve the nomination

MPs through the defense and Foreign Relations Committee have two weeks to vet Kameru.

A report by the committee will thereafter be presented before Parliament for debate and approval

His predecessor Gichangi served as the intelligence chief for 8 years.
