Madharau yenye sisi tumeonyeshwa Jubilee sisi tunaondoka, MP Korir says

Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir has hinted at plans for leaders allied to DP William Ruto to decamp to the newly registered United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

He alluded to alleged harassment by the top brass of Jubilee party leaders as the reason for the split.

“Madharau yenye sisi tumeonyeshwa Jubilee sisi tunaondoka kule Jubilee. Tangu nichaguliwe sijawahi keti na rais wangu tuongee mambo ya Jubilee,” he said.

“Ile tuliongea ya kwanza tulipochaguliwa, Mungu ni wa ajabu, Uhuru Kenyatta alituita akatutukana kama watoto wadogo. Tuliitwa majina yote, tukavumilia. Siku ya pili election ikakuwa cancelled. Tena akakuja akatumbia tuombee. Tuju alisema William Ruto asikanyage ofisi ya Jubilee. Alisema William Ruto ni persona non grata. Sisi tumeamua hiyo Jubilee wakae nayo. Sisi tuko na chama yetu sasa inaitwa UDA,” he added.

He was speaking during the burial of Councillor Charles Olare Chebet at Solai in Rongai, Nakuru County.

On his part, Kieni MP Kanini Kega called on Dr. Ruto to come out clearly over the new party and quit Jubilee.

Meanwhile, ex-Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has said they will woo the President, his Deputy and other elected or aspiring political leaders to join UDA.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Deputy President William Ruto were elected in office under the Jubilee party. Therefore the Constitution does not allow one to be a member of two political parties,” he said on Twitter.
