Machakos Governor race: Wavinya Ndeti's degree now questioned in court
The complainants, Gideon Ngewa Kenya and Kisilu Mutisya, claim that Ndeti does not hold a degree recognised in Kenya.
The two voters argue that Ndeti acquired a master’s degree without having a first degree.
They claim that the degree in Computing Science awarded to her by South Bank University raises a number of issues adding that the degree is uncommon.
“The complainants aver that the impugned degree certificate has not been certified by the UK Higher Education Systems official degree verification service.
The two now want Ndeti’s clearance certificate revoked.
In her response, Ndeti has asked the court to dismiss the petition saying that the petitioners did not exhaust the internal dispute resolution process of the party before lodging the complaint before IEBC.
The tribunal will deliver its ruling on June 18, 2022.
