Lake Basin Development Authority suspends top officials
Lake Basin Development Authority Board (LBDA), Kisumu, has sent two top management officials on compulsory leave for allegations of misappropriation of funds.
While making the announcement, LBDA’s board chair Onyango Oloo said the officials have wide-ranging allegations leveled against them.
Oloo further intimated that the board had earlier on constituted a committee to look into the conduct of the said officials and a report later released linking them to the allegations.
Oloo, who declined to mention the names of three other officers on suspension for gross misconduct and embezzlement of public funds, said the board must first write to them.
He further noted that the Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Water and Irrigation must be notified of the board’s action before he could divulge their names.
The dockets currently under investigation include; Managing Director, Chief Finance Officer, Corporate Affairs and Chief Maintenance Technical Services.
