KNEC says MP Oscar Sudi’s KCSE certificate bears code of a different school

KNEC says MP Oscar Sudi’s KCSE certificate bears code of a different school

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) now says the details on Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi’s examination certificate contradict the records in its database.

Testifying before a Nairobi court on Tuesday, Ms. Nabiki Kashu, the head of records and archives at KNEC, said Sudi’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate bears the code of a different school.

Sudi’s index number on his certificate indicates that he attended Highway Secondary School, class of 2006, but Ms. Kashu said the number belonged to a candidate in Parklands Secondary School.

She further told the court that in the 2006 KCSE examinations, there was no school called Highway High School.

“There is no possibility of two schools sharing a code number during a given examination,” said Kashu, adding: “Similarly, there is no possibility of two candidates sharing an index number.”

Mr. Sudi’s case is set to continue on Wednesday, where he is being charged with forging a KCSE certificate.

He is also accused of forging a diploma certificate which he claims was awarded by the Kenya Institute of Management.
