Acting Kisumu County Assembly Speaker Oraro in car accident

Elisha Oraro, the Acting Kisumu County Assembly Speaker, narrowly escaped death after a car accident on the Kapsabet Road.
His car is said to have hit a cow in Mosoriot area on Friday as he was headed for an assembly meeting in Eldoret.
Kondele ward MCA Joachim Oketch, who was in a different vehicle, told Citizen Digital that they rushed him to hospital.

Oraro’s ascent to the Speaker’s seat has been marred with controversy after warring factions clashed over his legibility.
In September this year, there was fracas at the County Assembly after a section of MCAs demanded that the incumbent Speaker Onyango Oloo step aside over the Ksh. 2.1billion Lake Basin mall scandal.
However, Oloo’s allies seemed keen to block the agenda and ended up exchanging blows inside the chambers.
When the deputy speaker walked in, the opposing faction swiftly ejected him as the Sergeants at Arms also walked out in protest.
One of his colleagues had reportedly been slapped by an MCA.
15 minutes later, the House was called to order and Kisumu North MCA Elisha Oraro, was sworn in.
