Kisii leaders want corrupt leaders fired

A section of leaders from Nyamira County are now calling on the Auditor General and the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) to reign on the rising corruption in the county after six County Executives were suspended over graft allegations.

Addressing the press in Kisii town, Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Timothy Bosire and his West Mugirango counterpart Dr. James Gesami said it was high time for the investigating bodies probed and takes action against those culpable of embezzling public funds.

The two legislators commended the Assembly for its bold move to suspend the six officials and urged the top leadership in the county to take action on persons accused of graft.

They, however, refuted claims that they have been pushing for prosecution of some leaders from the area with an aim of moving forward their political agenda.

Last week Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama suspended six executive Committee Members who were adversely mentioned in a report by the County Assembly Committee of Implementation for being corrupt and incompetent.
