Kirinyaga OCS killed in accident near Kamakis on Eastern bypass

Harrison Muteti Katecho, who was the OCS Wanguru Police Station in Kirinyaga County, died on Wednesday following a road accident near Kamakis area on the Eastern Bypass in Ruiru.

According to police, the OCS lost control of his saloon car, a Toyota Belta, and rammed into a lorry that had been parked on the left side of the road to pay tax at the Kiambu County cess collection point at around 3.30pm.

“Both vehicles were moving from Ruai direction towards Thika Road when the driver of the saloon car due to unknown reasons lost control of his vehicle and rammed onto the rear of the lorry,” reads a police report on the accident.

Mr. Muteti sustained chest and head injuries and was rushed to Ruiru Sub-county Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The lorry and saloon car which was extensively were towed to the Ruiru Police Station awaiting inspection while the body of the deceased was moved to Kenyatta University mortuary.
