Kenyans react to the NASA, Jubilee tea fiasco

A lazy Thursday evening as polling stations were closing and people were going about their lives was turned on its head when NASA and Jubilee politicians decided to go at each other on live TV.

It was the fight that will forever be known as the “tea bill scuffle”. The fight between the two opposing parties led by NASA Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch and Jubilee Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was caught on live TV by most Kenyans who were watching the election re-run process.

It was a harmless press conference, Jubilee hitting back at NASA for something they had said 15 minutes earlier and while many would have yawned and moved on, drama started. You can watch the videos here.

The one person who seemed to come out of it unscathed was Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja who did not engage on the bitter exchange and even shielded Oluoch from a mob that was baying for his blood.

Of course there was reaction from Kenyans online and it was hilarious…
