Kalonzo, Moi, Wetangula and Mudavadi hint at forming alliance ahead of 2022 polls

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula and KANU’s Gideon Moi now say they will form an alliance ahead of the 2022 General Elections.

The four leaders, who were in Kabuchai and Matungu constituencies to drum up support for respective candidates ahead of the by-elections on Tuesday, said they were collaborating to ensure they jointly form the government at next year’s polls.

Campaigns in various parts of Bungoma County provided an opportunity for the four political leaders to talk of their aim to unite while asking locals to vote for the Ford Kenya candidate Majimbo Simiyu Kalasinga.

The leaders said they will provide a third alternative in a contest that has all along been perceived as a two-horse race between Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Mudavadi, on his part, said: “Mtuone hivi, tutashikana vile tumesimama.

The four leaders, drumming up support for the referendum push spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga, are now eliciting questions on whether their partnership is another political pawn arising.

The leaders said they will use the three by-elections in Machakos, Matungu and Kabuchai as proof of unity and a litmus test ahead of 2022.

They’re expected to be in Matungu on Wednesday to drum up support for ANC’s Oscar Nabulindo.
