Kabando wa Kabando accepts defeat in Nyeri Senator race
Former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando
has conceded defeat in the Nyeri Senatorial race.
In a social media post, the legislator who
contested for the seat on a Narc-Kenya party ticket congratulated the winners
in the just completed polls.
“Our #NyeriFirst campaign is on pro-people
policy issues: basic needs = basic rights. Voters have spoken. It's my turn to
concede, which I do. Congrats all winners. As always, I remain actively
involved in matters of public interest. Asanteni Nyeri,” he wrote.
Kabando was contesting against Priscilla
Nyokabi (Jubilee) and Wahome Mwangi
(UDA)
His defeat follows another in the 2017 General Election, when Kabando lost his Mukurwe-ini MP seat to Anthony Gathiaka Kiai, who was then a newcomer in the political arena.
