Integrity, courage to guide my leadership if appointed CJ – Msagha
High Court Judge Msagha Mbogholi has asserted that he will restore confidence in the Supreme Court if appointed the next Chief Justice.
Responding to a question by the Judicial Service Commission’s (JSC) Mohamed Warsame, Justice Mbogholi intimated he will ensure professionalism, integrity and fairness are upheld in the corridors of justice.
“I will go to the core values; professionalism, integrity of our decisions, the courage to say this is the law and it has to be upheld and also fairness. It is very important that the people of Kenya have confidence in the courts they are dealing with,” said Justice Mbogholi.
Mbogholi also noted that backlog of cases in courts is the biggest hindrance to justice and vowed to reduce it within the shortest time possible should he be appointed the next Chief Justice.
Appearing before the JSC vetting panel, the Principal Judge with 29 years of experience says he will prioritize training and infrastructure if appointed to replace Dr Willy Mutunga who retired in June this year.
