‘I have a COVID-19 vaccine,’ Kirinyaga man claims as he interrupts President Ruto’s speech
Drama
was on Saturday witnessed in Kirinyaga County during President William Ruto’s
address when a local interrupted his speech, briefly diverting the attention of
the audience.
A man in the crowd sought audience with
the Head of State by shouting at the top of his voice claiming that he was in
possession of a COVID-19 vaccine.
“Mr
President, I have a COVID-19 vaccine, I have
a COVID vaccine,” he said repeatedly as the crowd
burst into laughter.
The President was speaking during the
commissioning of the Ksh.7.8 billion Thiba Dam in Kirinyaga County, whose construction began two years ago and ended in June.
The Commander-in-Chief was forced to halt
his speech as all attention was drawn to the man.
He, albeit in a light gesture, dismissed
the man's remarks in a crafty manner that seemingly appeared as if he was concurring
with his claims.
“Msijali huyu jamaa anasema ako na ujuzi
wa COVID vaccine, si mbaya, tutaongea na yeye tujue kama ako na hiyo ujuzi
tumsaidie aendelee mbele,” Ruto said after a long laughter.
