High Court temporarily blocks move to stop unvaccinated Kenyans from seeking gov't services

The High Court has issued conservatory orders, preventing the government from implementing a directive requiring anyone seeking in-person government services after December 31 to show proof of vaccination.

The State has been prohibited from enforcing the directive until a petition filed in court challenging the matter is heard and determined, according to orders issued on Tuesday by Justice Antony Mrima.

The latest comes just a month after Health Minister CS Mutahi Kagwe announced measures aimed at persuading vaccine-skeptical citizens to get the vaccine before the end of the year.

"We must take cue from the rest of the world and learn from them. A worrisome epidemiological picture is emerging in European countries like the Netherlands, Austria, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Australia, and the USA, where new COVID-19 surges are being observed despite successful vaccination campaigns," he said.

The order was granted following an application by Enock Aura who claimed that the government of Kenya has entered into highly secretive agreements with international pharmaceutical companies for the sale of the covid-19 vaccines.

Enock Aura said CS Health Mutahi Kagwe is privy to this information and has also failed to disclose to Kenyans the very contents in the syringes of such ‘covid-19 vaccines’.

According to Aura CS Mutahi Kagwe has not disclosed to the Kenyan population what exactly is contained in the covid-19 vaccines, or possible side effects, which are now being administered.

Further, Aura claims that the government has not documented any side effects including fatalities precipitated by the administration of the covid-19 vaccines.

The judge directed that the matter be heard on January 4, 2021.
