Former AG Muigai, Police boss Kimaiyo land State jobs

President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Prof. Githu Muigai and former Inspector of Police David Kimaiyo to top state jobs.

Kimaiyo has been appointed the Kenyatta National Hospital chairman replacing Mark Bor who will now head the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital board.

Prof. Muigai has been appointed to chair the Council for Legal Education while former Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi will chair the board of the Coast Development Authority.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(3) of the State Corporations Act, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint David Mwole Kimaiyo (Dr.) to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenyatta National Hospital, up to 17th March, 2019, with effect from the 18th April 2018. The appointment of the Mark Bor is revoked,” read the gazette notice.

“Mark Bor to be the chairperson of the Board of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, for a period of three (3) years with effect from 18th April, 2018.”

Other appointments include;

Edwin Yinda – chairperson of the Information Communication Technology Authority.

Bernard Mungata – chairperson of Industrial and Commercials Development Corporation (ICDC) for three years effective April 18.

Erastus Mwongera – chairperson of the Kenya National Highways Authority.

James Ndegwa – chairperson of the board of Capital Markets Authority for three years starting April 18.
