A Form One student from Pala Kojwanga primary school in Karachuonyo ,Homabay county who got admission to join Kanga High School in Migori county reported to the school with only an empty box and two bars of soap.

Levis Otieno who comes from a very humble family scored 391 marks in KCPE and was determined to report to school at all costs.

He reported to the Kanga High School without even a pair of shoes flanked on the side by his dear mum Monica Atieno .

Speaking about his predicament, the student said the mother had only managed to borrow a small amount of money from a neighbor which was barely enough for a metallic box and two bars of soap.

Kanga School Principal Michael Gweno confirmed that the student and his mother came to school a day earlier and were hosted in his house.

He added that they did not have a single coin for the due admission fee and only had the box and soap.

The principal said the student who is from a humble home got his first pair of shoes which were donated to him by a form two student at the school.

He also added that they have admitted the student to school without school fees and even learning materials hoping that the student would get support from the well-wishers.
