Police officers in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County, are presently holding five students from Karumandi Boys High School in connection with an arson attack that left one of the dormitories in the institution razed down.

According to Gichugu Police Commander Anthony Mbogo, the fire which reportedly began at around 4am burnt down a dormitory that accommodates 83 students.

Mr. Mbogo said it took combined efforts of the students to put out the fire but, by then, all the belongings of the 83 students had been consumed by the fire.
