Fire razes Gikomba market…again

Property of unknown value was destroyed when a fire broke out and razed a section of Nairobi’s Gikomba market early Thursday morning.

According to traders who spoke to Citizen Digital, the fire burnt parts of the market where mitumba and cereals are sold.

The fire department arrived on scene to assess the damage and establish the cause of the fire as the traders are now left counting losses during this already difficult time of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fire tragedies are not new to Gikomba market as they have seemingly become somewhat of an annual occurrence with traders and some city leaders reading mischief.
