Family kills man who sprayed his 6 children with bullets

A man who murdered three children and seriously injured three others by shooting them while asleep at their home in Elgeyo Marakwet County has been killed by his family members.

David Yano, who had gone into hiding after the Sunday last week incident, was shot six times on Thursday afternoon after being nabbed at Kabulwo Trading Centre by youth from his home in Kimaus village.

The man, a suspected bandit, was frogmarched to his home where he was executed at around 2 pm.

Confirming the incident, Koibirir location Chief Alfred Lorem said the deceased had fled to another village soon after killing three children and injuring three others on Sunday at Tilap village, Embolot location.

“He was today arrested today at Kobulwa in Keiyo North. His kinsmen were informed and they rushed with a motorbike and brought him to his home place in Kasige village and they killed him at 2:30 pm,” Mr Alfred told the police.

The injured children are hospitalised at Iten County Hospital as they undergo treatment.

According to a statement released by Corporal Peter Manase from Tot Police Station in Endo Ward, Elgeyo Marakwet County, the man was immediately buried after the incident.

The man shot the children – – two of whom are his own – – after a domestic fight with his wife, who was not present during the incident.

Bodies of the three deceased children were taken to Iten Referral Hospital mortuary.
