Ex-Senator Muthama: Kalonzo does not speak on behalf of the Kamba nation
Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has faulted Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who recently vowed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta even beyond 2022.
Muthama accused the former Vice President of auctioning the Kamba nation for his own political ambitions.
The outspoken ex-Senator spoke while attending Christmas Celebrations at the Light Christian Church in Machakos.
“Kalonzo’s offer of support to President Uhuru even after 2022 does not reflect the will of the Kamba people, those are his own personal sentiment,” he noted in part.
At the same congregation, Muthama declared himself the Kamba community kingpin, saying he is working on a political outfit that will catapult the community to greater political heights.
He promised to involve among other leaders, Deputy President William Ruto, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi and Ford -Kenya’s Moses Wetangula in settling on a possible presidential candidate.
His sentiments came just a few days after Kalonzo asked the Kamba nation to unite if they intend to make any meaningful political stride.
Earlier in December, Kalonzo was forced to issue a statement, refuting allegations that he was in talks with DP Ruto on the possibility of forming an alliance before 2022.
The allegations had been fuelled by Muthama who claimed that he was ready to mediate a working formula between Kalonzo and DP Ruto.
