DP Ruto in Baringo following waves of killings

Deputy President, William Ruto, has flown to the volatile Baringo County despite disapproving sentiments from residents who argue the government has failed to protect them from gun wielding bandits.

Ruto’s visit comes after a week of endless bloodshed that has claimed about 14 lives.

But despite the hostility on the ground, the Deputy President has flown there and is currently addressing a rally in Muchongoi, Baringo South, before heading for Baringo North later Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the body of one of two slain teachers killed in the area is being laid to rest today at his home in Talai, Baringo North.

Last weekend an MCA and a Tiaty parliamentary aspirant were killed by gunmen in Marigat, Baringo South in the ongoing clashes in the area.
