Dormitory at Senior Chief Koinange High School destroyed in dawn fire

150 students from Senior Chief Koinange High School in Kiambu have been left without accommodation after fire gutted a dormitory.

The inferno broke out at around 4:45 am while some students were having breakfast and others were in class for morning sessions.

Villagers reportedly entered the school to help put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to the lower ground dormitory.

Gachathi ‘b’ dormitory was however reduced to ash.

Kiambu Police Commander Adile Njagi Nyange has assured parents that all students are safe. He said a team of investigators are on the ground to investigate the cause of the fire.
