Declare property or face demolition – Kidero

Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero has issued a three-month ultimatum to owners of buildings constructed without county approvals to declare them or face demolition.

Kidero said only approved buildings will be allowed after the period elapses as a move to tame the practice of constructing sub-standard buildings that end up collapsing.

The governor noted that stern action will be taken against county askaris who allegedly attacked, and assaulted hawkers in the city’s Ngara area.

The incident is said to have left one person seriously injured and admitted at Kiambu Hospital with two others sustaining minor injuries.

The governor was speaking after a service at Redeemed Gospel Church in Komarock estate on Sunday.
