Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested two suspects; Francis Apeli aged 25 and Samuel Mwangi alias Opicha in connection with violent crimes in Vihiga.

The two are said to be part of a 4-man gang that has terrified Vihiga residents for a while now.

They are also suspected to be behind the gruesome murders of two men; a 54-year-old Allan Amadi and Gideon Habwe who were killed in June.

According to the detectives, the gang armed with crude weapons attacked Allan Amadi on June 10 at the Bei Bora Agrovet within Kima market

Amadi who was working as a security guard was struck on the head. He died on the spot.

In another incident, the gang members are said to have attacked a second victim, Gideon Habwe from whom they stole a mobile phone on June 16.

In the process they inflicted serious injuries on him, which he succumbed to while undergoing treatment.

Luanda-based police detectives narrowed on the duo and flushed them out of their Majengo hideout within Vihiga County on Friday.
