Class 6 pupil arrested for poisoning granny

Police in Gatanga, Murang’a County are holding a Standard 6 pupil for allegedly poisoning and killing his grandmother.

According to reports, the boy is said to have mixed the fall army worm pesticide with his grandmother’s tea.

The 60-year old granny is reported to have developed abdominal pains after consuming the beverage.

The deceased who was a popular figure in the area, was rushed to Kirwara Sub-district Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

According to Gatanga police boss David Rotich, police have collected samples of the tea and taken to the lab for tests.

Rotich says that this will help determine whether it was actually poisoned.
