All Saints Cathedral: Cancel your wedding or have a 30-minute event with less than 10 people

The All Saints Cathedral has asked couples that had planned weddings for the next four weeks to consider cancelling the nuptials.

In the extreme circumstances that a wedding cannot be cancelled, the Cathedral has advised couples to consider a 30-minute ceremony within the church precincts.

The half-an-hour ceremony will not have more than 10 people.

Attendees will be under the strict guidance of the Cathedral’s provost.

Additionally, parties who has travelled in the recent past will be required to have self-isolated or sought medical attention before the wedding.

The latest comes after the church suspended all Sunday church services and cancelled meetings that were to be held at the premises from Wednesday.

According to Provost Canon Sammy Wainaina, the church will remain open for individual prayers.

The move was informed by the need to avert the spread of the coronavirus which has so far infected four Kenyans.

The four are currently in isolation at the Mbagathi Hospital with the government saying its facilities has tested 111 people.

Kenyans have been advised to be extra vigilant and limit all forms of social interaction to avert the spread of the virus.
