”By early Friday morning, the Conservatives had secured 364 of the 650 seats in the House of Parliament, well ahead of Labour’s 203 seats,” CNN reported.
With such control in the legislative house, the country is poised to exit the European Union by the end of January 2020.
Speaking after the victory, Johnson was grateful for the trust that UK citizens put in his party by giving them a comfortable majority in parliament.
“I, and we, will never take your support for granted,” he said to the electorate.
