93-year-old granny raped and murdered in Embu

A 93-year-old woman was on Wednesday morning found raped and murdered in Kithimu Village, Embu County.

Her body was discovered by her relatives who found the door to the kitchen where she slept wide open, only to find her lifeless body laying on the ground upon entry.

The victim’s granddaughter, says she found her naked and lifeless in the kitchen which also doubled up as her bedroom. The door was also said to have been open.

Confirming the incident, Assistant Chief James Nyaga stated that investigations into the murder of the nonagenarian were already underway.

According to the administrator, the incident comes barely two weeks after an 8-year-old girl was found defiled and murdered in the same area.

Residents have now expressed fear over increase in the number of such incidents where women, young and old, have become targets.

They now want security agents to beef up patrol and come up with mechanisms to aid in nabbing the suspects.
