2022 succession politics take center stage at London Ward campaigns

Succession politics dominated the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) campaigns for the London ward by-elections in Nakuru town.

A smattering of leaders allied to Deputy President William Rutto exuded confidence that they would carry the day, asking hopefuls to seek mandate from the people in votes.

During the campaigns, leaders present implored the Kalenjin community to stick with DP Ruto ahead of the 2022 General Election, saying the outcome of the London ward by-elections would greatly give the direction to the newly-formed UDA party.

Speaking at Mlimani at the event hosted by Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika,MP Aisha Jumwa asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to handover power to the person Kenyans will have elected in 2022.

Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who was also present narrated the pain the DP Ruto was going through- seemingly deserted by his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he supported twice for the top job.

Senator Susan Kihika also urged the Kalenjin community to firmly stand bahind UDA candidate for the London ward Antony Nzuki Wachira saying his win would be wind beneath DP Ruto’s wings.
