147 people arrested during curfew crackdown in Nairobi
At least 147 people were arrested on Friday in a high level police operation aimed at enforcing the curfew.
The suspects arrested in different areas within Nairobi are currently in police custody at the Kasarani stadium, as police seek to ensure that even in custody, they observe social distancing.
The suspects picked up in drinking dens, the streets and house parties in different estates are expected to be presented before court Monday.
Police however say that they will admit them to police bond.
The operation launched by Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Thursday saw officers from different disciplines within the service take patrol duties to reinforce surveillance.
