Breast-fed babies behave better in school- Study

A recently published study has reinforced the long-held belief that breast-feeding is best for babies.

The study was carried out on 1,500 children in South Africa between 7 and 11 years old. It showed that those who drank breast milk exclusively for the first six months of life had an easier time behaving in school than those breast-fed less than one month.

Experts from Glasgow University who led the study said it showed that breast milk for babies has benefits beyond physical health.

They recommended that mothers feed their babies breast milk exclusively for the first six months of life, then gradually introduce other foods.
