Winnie Odinga challenges Femi One to a rap battle
Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party presidential
aspirant Raila Odinga’s lastborn daughter Winnie Odinga has now challenged Kaka
Empire rapstress Femi One to a rap off.
Winnie was speaking on the ‘Iko Nini’
podcast, where he cited the ‘Utawezana’ hitmaker’s recent collaborator Mbithi
as one of her best local rappers, alongside Mbogi Genje, Wakadinali, and Khaligraph
Jones.
Upon mentioning Mbithi, podcast host Mwafreeka then asks
her whether she has heard his new song with Femi One titled ‘Hepi’, to which she
responds in the affirmative.
But while she feels Mbithi’s verse on the
song, Mwafreeka opines that it was Femi One who stole the limelight on the hit with her simple, witty punchlines.
Winnie then, however, bullishly says, “I challenge her
to a rap off, I’ll do a cypher with her...I’ll wash her a--” before breaking into laughter.
The podcast host, in disbelief, however assures
her that Femi One is the best female rapper in Kenya at the moment, hence it
would be impossible for Winnie to beat her.
Winnie responds by saying, “but you don’t
know what I can do.’’
The host then goes ahead to pose the
challenge to the Kaka Empire reigning queen, saying: “Femi I hope umeskia joh.”
