Ugandan singer Juliana Kanyomozi reveals secret behind her beauty

Celebrated Ugandan songstress, Juliana Kanyomozi, has revealed the secret behind her well toned and voluptuous body.

Speaking to Citizen Digital at Coke Studio Nairobi headquarters, Juliana said her lifestyle contributes immensely to maintaining her shape and healthy skin.

Ugandans have habitually referred to her as a ‘woman with right amount of flesh’.

Many have often asked about her beauty secret and the singer had this to say:

“I do not strictly follow a particular diet to put my weight on course; I eat a lot of healthy foods, drink a lot of water – whoever said water is life, I agree.”

Asked if she’s ever gone against her ‘only-healthy foods’ rule, she said: “Not at all; I do not eat fries quite often. Deep fried foods and junk may deter you from achieving that healthy look and life you intend to live.”

Juliana also revealed hitting the gym is yet another method she employs in keeping her weight in check.

“I also work out a lot. It is not only good for my health, but also as an artist I have to keep fit. Unfortunately I have been quite lazy the last month or two.”

Juliana, however, was quick to point out that she prefers if people remember her for her achievements, and not looks.

“I don’t pay much attention to beauty; I do put my head into what I do musically.”

“Many people often think I am beautiful, I am flirty; but it is not something I would want people to use to measure my success. I would love people to judge me purely on my work.”

The Usiende Mbali singer was not hesitant to talk about the art of female celebrities flashing a lot of skin to remain relevant:

“If you are an artist I think it is important to give all your attention to the craft; rather than expose how you look – beauty fades over years; how will you then sell your art when you are 45 and you no longer have the curves to show, or when you get six kids?”

“If I were anyone I would concentrate on getting better at whatever it is that I do: sell my music first and then beauty would complement my work.”

Coke Studio Africa season 3

Juliana Kanyomozi has been paired up with Nigeria’s Flavour in this year’s Coke Studio recording, and has expressed her excitement at working with the ‘Nwa Baby’ hit-maker in a mash up project.

“I am really excited to be in this year’s Coke Studio Recording session; it’s a huge platform for the African music – something I have never done before. I have been paired up with somebody I absolutely love musically, and I am also happy to be back in Nairobi,” she said.

Juliana has applauded Coke Studio Recording mash up, terming the project a big success.

“It’s a great thing that African artistes get together and learn from each other; it is a unique experience.”
