This is how Mike Sonko celebrated his birthday

Nairobi Senator Gidion Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko on Thursday celebrated his 41^st birthday at his Mua Hills home in Machakos County.

On this special day, Sonko – who was joined by his wife Primrose and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s son Muhoho among other friends, posted on one of his social media pages that he was eyeing the country’s top job come 2032.

His birthday cake sent a clear message to his political opponents indicating that he would run for the Nairobi’s gubernatorial post in the next year’s General Elections.

Sonko also took this opportunity to celebrate the life of his late father, Gideon Kioko Kivanguli, who passed away in September last year.

In his post, Sonko pointed out that this had been the first time he celebrated his birthday without his father.

“A day like this my Dad used to celebrate my birthday with me by taking a bottle of Johnnie Walker which was his favorite whisky. Since he had left his stock in the cabinet, I decided to celebrate it with him,” Sonko wrote.

The Senator of Nairobi acknowledged that if it were not for his late mother, his late father and God; he could not have reached where he is now.

Sonko took time also to reflect on his childhood memories.

“There was a mobile ID registration campaign by the former President Moi’s government and all students who had attained the age of 18 years were supposed to show a copy of birth certificate or notification of birth document from any hospital. I had to forge mine with a whiteout and backdated it by three years so that I could also be issued with an ID instantly like the rest of my classmates.”

The 41-year-old Senator ended his message by saying that the mistake of yesterday will not determine the success of tomorrow.

“Some good things are happening in our life as a family and we look up the heaven and smile, I know it’s you Dad. Thank you for you for the good counsel. Rest in peace Dad, I miss you dearly,” he ended the post.
