PHOTOS: Farida Wambui weds gospel singer Daddy Owen

Gospel star Daddy Owen tied the knot with the love of his life, Farida Wambui, in a blissful invite-only wedding that was held at the Buruburu Kenya Assemblies of God Church on Saturday, April 2.

The reception was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nairobi.

The joyous event was attended by comedian Eric Omondi and his fiancée Chantal Grazioli, gospel singer Rufftone and his wife Krystal among other celebrities.

Daddy Owen proposed to the strikingly beautiful Farida in 2013, and since then fans have been eagerly waiting for their big day.

The Vanity hit-maker had been secretive about his love life until back in 2014 when he unveiled Farida Wambui as the woman in his life during his brother Rufftone’s wedding.

Rufftone walked Krystal down the aisle late July, 2014.

Though that was the first time for Daddy Owen and Farida to come out in public, the two have known each other for four years and are not just lovers, but also friends.

Farida told The Standard in July, 2015 that she prefers keeping her relationship with Daddy Owen out of the public eye.

“I am a very private person and I like it that way, Owen is the celebrity so I prefer staying behind the scenes, supporting him all the way and letting him shine,” she said.

Daddy Owen, on his part, described Farida as “the one”.

“Farida complements me in many ways, always supporting my musical career, showing up to concerts where I’m called to perform and offering much needed advice in regards to the industry,” Daddy Owen told The Standard.
