Nyeri Granny tells Hollywood star to breastfeed her great grandchildren

American reality television series Real Housewives of Atlanta actress Shamea Morton received nuggets of wisdom from her fiancé’s grandmother when she visited his rural home in Nyeri three weeks ago.

The film star has been on holiday in Kenya for the past three weeks where she got the opportunity to meet her fiancé’s kinsmen.

“We’ve arrived in Kenya and they welcomed me with open arms! They gave me flowers at the airport then threw a huge party with lots of food and family. Everyone went around the room giving me their blessings and welcoming me to Kenya and the family. I’m so blessed! This is the only Kenya that I’m worried about. God is good!” she wrote when she jetted into the country.

Morton is planning to tie the knot soon with her Kenyan man only identified as Gerald – a businessman.

In today’s world where most women shun breastfeeding their young ones, citing aesthetic degradation, the elderly woman advised her granddaughter not to be like ‘them’.

“We made it to his rural home town of Nyeri and got the blessings from grandma. She wants me to keep the family name going and have kids. She even requested breastfeeding,” she wrote on Instagram.

During her now three-week vacation in Kenya, the actress has had the opportunity to tour some of Kenya’s scenic locations among them Fort Jesus, Maasai Mara National Reserve and Nairobi National Museum, and even sampled Nairobi’s nightlife when she partied at the Florida Club during Christmas Eve.

“Today was great! I hung out in downtown/Mombasa old town, went to Fort Jesus and I saw the Akamba handicraft and watched the curio’s carve out beautiful wooden animals,” she captioned some photos of Mombasa tour.

Morton is a former Falcons and Hawks cheerleader who turned into the Atlanta Hawks in-game host-cum radio host.

She stars in RHOA alongside popular Hollywood names among them Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and Kim Fields.

Her net worth is currently valued at USD2 million (Ksh204 million).

Ms Morton studied Broadcast Journalism at Morris Brown College, holds adual degree in Psychology and Sociology from Georgia State University, which hasserved her well in her acting career.

Her big break came in 2002 when she appeared in the critically hailed film Drumline alongside Zoe Saldana’s character. But before she landed that job, the former “Miss Southwest DeKalb” had minor stints on network television and the small stage including BJ Hughes of the Alliance Theater’s play Olympic Village and Elaine Hicks’ Illusions.
