Miss World Kenya, Charity Mwangi, a video vixen?

It seems that Miss World Kenya, Charity Mwangi, is a woman of many talents.

In addition to being a beauty queen, the Kenyatta University student is also a video vixen. Celebrated Kenyan boy band, Sauti Sol, has revealed that she featured in their steamy Shake Yo Bam Bam video.

The dance track, which is a celebration of various musical genres, features a bevy of beauties shaking their bums vigorously to the upbeat song.

Sauti Sol made the revelation when they congratulated her on their official Instagram post.

The 22-year-old Kiambu beauty, who is an Agricultural Resource Management student, edged out 10 contestants from the various counties to take the Miss World Kenya crown.

Kajiado’s Margaret Muchemi was named first runners-up winning Ksh100, 000 while Murang’a’s Olive Waithera was the second runners-up pocketing a cash prize of Ksh50, 000.

The glamorous event was held at Weston Hotel, Nairobi.

Joseph Hellon and world renowned reggae group Morgan Heritage headlined the performances for the glitzy evening.

The Miss World Kenya pageant prides itself in handpicking beauties that are not only physically attractive, but ladies who possess qualities that can make a difference in society.

This year’s finalists presented a report of their performance and activities during the year of their reign as County beauty queens, an act that marks a paradigm shift from past pageants where contestants pitched what they intended to do if they bagged the crown.

This, according to Terry Mungai (the Miss World Kenya franchise holder), will ensure that Kenya gets excellent representation a global platform.

Charity embarked on a personal project christened “Mtoto Aishi Initiative” which aims to educate mothers, house helps and caregivers on what to do in the event of domestic accidents.

The pageant celebrated 50 years of its existence.

The new beauty queen takes over from Idah Nguma, who emerged seventh overall during the Miss World finals held in London last year.  This is a feat Kenya had not achieved in over a decade.

Charity will follow suit, representing Kenya in the competition to defend the Miss World title.
