Lil Maina says he doubted his latest banger 'Kishash', reveals future plans

Lil Maina, a content creator and rapper, says he was initially hesitant to release the hit song 'Kishash.'

Lil Maina claims he did not believe 'Kishash' had the potential to become a hit song and thus did not devote much attention to it, preferring to concentrate on his other song, 'Umbwakni.'

A colleague, however, encouraged the seventeen-year-old rapper to work on the song and later introduced him to rapper Ndovu Kuu, who ended up appearing in the song.

“I do all my songs out of boredom. It was on June 23, 2021 at 11:38pm on my laptop in my bed. Originally, it had kanzu. I put it on hold and recorded “umbwakni”, feeling it had more potential. I travelled to the US and uploaded the latter in July.”

“In October, I came back in the country still doubtful about ‘Kishash’. I talked to John Omoke who told me I need to work on it. I told him to introduce me to Ndovu Kuu. We went to the studio in the second week of December. We shot the video with Omoke at Longonot place, opposite KBC but Ndovu Kuu was in Mombasa for a gig.” He said while speaking to Nation.

In terms of his professional future, the 'Kishash' hitmaker does not want to be famous in his thirties.

He claims that the fame he is experiencing is just a phase and that he wants to be a regular guy with a regular job.

“I just want to be a normal guy with a normal job, good kids, big house, good car. I don’t want to look at myself in my thirties still booked for shows. This is just a phase before I start living my life,” stated Lil Maina.
