Citizen TV anchor Janet Mbugua lands lucrative corporate deal
Citizen Television anchor Janet Mbugua-Ndichu has been signed by African Speakers and Artists (AS+A’s) to join an international speaker circuit.
Alongside Janet, AS+A’s other key signings include investment banker-turned-financial markets analyst and commentator Aly-Khan Satchu, and the Group CEO of Pan Africa Insurance Holdings and former director general of the Vision 2030 secretariat, Mugo Kibati.
Other speakers and artists on the roster include Erik Hersman, technologist and founder of Ushahidi and BRCK; Ashish Thakkar, founder and CEO of Mara Group; Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu, founder and CEO of SoleRebels Footwear; and Kenya’s top boy band Sauti Sol.
George Issaias the founder and CEO of AS+A’s said Janet, Aly-Khan and Mugo had joined the list because they not only represent the most successful, resourceful, and innovative personalities in their fields, but also have a relevant story to share with the world.
“Our speakers and artists can offer unique perspectives and world class entertainment,” said Mr. Issaias.
Janet Mbugua–Ndichu was named among the 2015 Business Daily Top 40 under 40 women in Kenya, and listed amongst Kenya’s top 100 movers and shakers by Drum Magazine East Africa in 2014.
After featuring in the elite Top 40 under 40 list, Janet said: “I’ve chosen to think positively, be driven by passion, daring to dream, daring to soar. I know I have miles to go but the positive thinking has boosted my confidence in a way that I’ve never experienced before. I want to tell people, especially young people, that going through a rough patch can build your character if you believe that you’ll come out on the other side.”
She was also named among the top three best News Anchors in Kenya by the Media Council of Kenya.
The celebrated Malaysia-trained journalist is also a mentor with the Africa Leadership Academy (ALA) in South Africa.
