Caitlyn Jenner attacked by her own transgender community

The transgender community turned against Caitlyn Jenner after she won the Transgender Champion Award recently at Glamour Magazine Awards for her ‘monumental courage in publicly stepping out as a transgender woman’.

Caitlyn, who was formerly known as Bruce Jenner, is father of Kylie and Kendall Jenner and stepfather to the Kardashian sisters. Jenner transitioned at the age of 65 years after a long struggle with her gender identity.

On Thursday, the transgender community protestors furiously confronted Jenner, who had been slotted to speak at a fundraiser aimed at raising funds to provide services to those living with HIV/AIDS and the LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual and Transgender) Community.

She had delivered a speech about her struggle with her gender identity, family and life after transition but she didn’t know what was waiting for her outside.

The angry protestors standing outside labeled her as an inappropriate advocate for the community.

In a video captured on the scene, one protester can be heard saying, “You are an insult to trans people. You have no right to represent us. You are an insult. … We have been assaulted by police … We have been violated by the system.”

As seen in the video, Jenner stopped and attempted to defuse the situation with conversation before being escorted away by her security.

The 65-year-old, who began the show I am Cait, decided to make this transition publicly after years of hiding it within the family.

“She made the decision to transition publicly—so that in the future kids don’t have to wait until they’re 65 years old to discover who they are,” Alex Schmider, of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, told Glamour with her accolade.

The husband of a New York City police officer who was killed on 9/11 says he has returned his late wife’s “Women of the Year” award to Glamour, calling it a “slap in the face” after the publication presented the award to Caitlyn Jenner last week.

In a seething letter sent to the fashion magazine, fellow officer James Smith called the shared recognition to the transgender reality star a “publicity stunt” and insulting to his wife’s memory.

“I find it insulting to Moira Smith’s memory, and the memory of other heroic women who have earned this award. Was there no woman in America, or the rest of the world, more deserving than this man?” he wrote to Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive, while sharing a copy on his Facebook page Thursday.

ATTACKS MEMORIAL

His beloved wife died after courageously rushing into the South Tower during the 2001 terrorist attacks in lower Manhattan.

A Glamour Magazine spokeswoman reached out to The Huffington Post and said that they are proud to have honored Moira Smith in 2001 and continue to stand by their decision to honor Jenner.
