Serah Katusya to lead expansion of Groupm’s graduate program

MediaCom East Africa Managing Director Serah Katusya is expected to spearhead the expansion of WPP-ScanGroup graduate program across the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).

On Monday, GroupM Africa, a sister company to MediaCom and a subsidiary of WPP-ScanGroup announced the expansion of the graduate internship program to Kenya and Nigeria after launching in South Africa last year.

The program offers paid internships covering 12 months under which it  offers work experience in the media and advertising industry.

During its first year of, the program’s 11 graduates were absorbed internally at GroupM. The program hopes to further position future graduates to clients and affiliate partners in the region.

“The aim of the program is to nurture the new generation of media and marketing experts of the future. In Sub Sahara Africa, media talent is limited, we want to drive this agenda from the front, we believe that strengthening our teams as well as those of our clients and partners in emerging media markets sets us apart in the continent,” said Serah Katusya.

The company further named a steering committee for the program featuring senior leaders from the firm and its agency network.

Other executives in the program include Hemang Doshi, Seni Adetu from Nigeria and Lwandile Qokweni.

The Committee will be chaired by Group M’s Chief Executive Officer Federico de Nardis.
Serah Katusia has been MediaCom’s Managing Director since 2016.

MediaCom is a subsidiary of giant media marketing firm WPP whose network comprises of three other companies.
