Posta Kenya launches Big Four Agenda commemorative stamps

The Postal Corporation of Kenya on Wednesday launched the Big Four Agenda Stamps that will be issued to mark special events or occasions of national and international importance.

In a grand ceremony held at the Laico Regency hotel in Nairobi, the commemorative stamps will also be used to depict the four pillars of the social economic agenda for national development.

The ceremony was officiated by Judy Munyiyi, the Information Secretary in the Ministry of Information Communication & Technology, who was representing the ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.

In his remarks read by Ms Munyiyi, CS Mucheru said that he is working closely with all the stakeholders in the National Government to ensure that Posta Kenya is considered as the national payment gateway for all public services going forward.

“This will go a long way towards making Kenya a cashless economy, which is one of the most critical agendas of the Government today,” said CS Mucheru.

While acknowledging that the cooperation was facing challenges, CS Mucheru moved to assure that his ministry will give all the necessary support needed to return Posta Kenya to profitability the soonest possible.

“The stamps we are launching today depict our country’s national roadmap to prosperity and industrial development. This detailed roadmap is officially known as the Big 4 Agenda,” he said.

The commemorative stamps are now available at post offices countrywide.

The Postal Corporation of Kenya was established by an Act of Parliament (PCK Act, 1998) and operates as a commercial public enterprise.

Their mandate as a Corporation includes provision of accessible, affordable and reliable Postal Services to all parts of Kenya as the Public Postal Licensee.
