Man kills spouse and four children at Kathata village in Kirinyaga County,

  • Paul Murage Njuki, 35, used an axe to kill his wife Millicent Muthoni 38 and their four children aged 1 year  to 13 years.
  • After killing his family members  he surrendered himself at Kianyaga police station.

Shock has engulfed Kathata village in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County after a 35-year-old man killed his wife and their four children.

According to Gichugu sub-county Police Commander Anthony Mbogo, Paul Murage Njuki, 35, killed his wife Millicent Muthoni, 38, and their four children, aged one to thirteen, with an axe.

Mbogo claimed that after Murage murdered his family, he surrendered himself to the Kianyaga police station, where he pleaded with the police commander to arrest and detain him for six months because he was selling bhang.

" I was shocked and ordered by officers to investigate him ,where he shocked my officers by telling them he had killed his wife Millicent Muthono 38 and their four children," said commander Mbogo.

The suspect said he started by killing his wife using an axe before killing his four children.

Mbogo said the suspect is currently being held at Kianyaga police station while the five  bodies were taken to Kerugoya hospital mortuary  awaiting a postmortem
