Two children killed in Shauri Moyo, father arrested

It was shock and grief for residents of Shauri Moyo estate in Nairobi after two girls were allegedly murdered by their father.

The girls aged 10 and three years are said to have been killed at 6:30am on Tuesday.

According to a neighbour who sought anonymity and did not go into much detail, the act may have been premeditated.

Police had a difficult time trying to access the murder scene and were forced to lob teargas into the air to disperse irate residents.

The residents had gathered around the suspect’s house baying for his blood.

Buruburu OCPD Geoffrey Mayiek said the suspect is in police custody and investigations into the incident have commenced.

The bodies have since been moved to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
