A police officer manning the ongoing KCSE exams at Kapchepkoro Secondary School in Bomet County has died after complaining of chest pain and breathing complications.

According to Bomet County Police Commandant Robinson Ndiwa, the officer smoothly performed his duties the entire morning session and during the afternoon hours he complained of chest pain, prompting his supervisor to seek guidance from relevant authorities.

Mr Ndiwa said after a quick consultation he was rushed to Kaplong Hospital while arrangements were adjusted to accommodate another officer as a replacement.

The county boss added that the officer was pronounced dead while being examined at the facility.

"It's unfortunate that we have lost him. He was a good officer serving at Sotik prison. Before the start of the KCSE exams, he was full of life interacting with his colleagues without showing any signs of weakness," added Ndiwa.

Meanwhile, in Chepalungu Sub-county, a student at Kipsuter Secondary School is sitting her exams at Sigor Sub-county Hospital after delivering a baby boy during morning hours.

At the same time, two other students from Koitab Silibwet Secondary & Siongiroi Girls Schools are under medication due to sickness.
