Popular comedian and actor Charles Bukeko, known popularly as Papa Shirandula was buried on Monday at his rural home in Namisi-Bukeko, Busia County.

His body left Nairobi on Sunday night, arriving at his home in the wee hours of Monday morning, flanked by mourners who travelled in two buses.

The procession was received by health officials who screened all on board before they were ushered into a holding tent.

Those who travelled from Nairobi sat at a separate tent, away from the rest of the mourners with locals advised to avoid any contact with them.

The comedian’s body remained in the hearse under the keen watch of health officials and a contingent of security men.

The comedian was finally laid to rest at the family’s graveside with only his family members allowed into the homestead under strict guidelines
